Southeast Massachusetts encompasses a large area south of Boston
that borders the state of Rhode
Island to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. Rife with history,
this area is home to many historic attractions, including the largest solid granite
monument in the nation. Found in Plymouth,
the National
Monument to the Forefathers is 81 ft (25 m) tall and has proudly welcomed
seafarers since 1889. Other historic attractions include the Attleboro
Area Industrial Museum, Fall
River Heritage State Park and Plimoth
Plantation. Families enjoy exploring the Capron
Park Zoo in Attleboro
and cooling down in the area's only waterpark, Water
Wizz, which is located in Wareham.
